Once your payment is processed, you can start transferring data immediately. Your transfer dollars never expire. The $2.00 monthly account fee is automatically deducted from your balance on the first day

- Is there a Free Trial period to test drive the service? - No.
- Does Blind File Sharing.com offer any plan that is free? - No.
- How can I pay for the service? - You are invited to pay online using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or JCB. You may also mail us a check or Postal Money Order. Note that if you mail a payment, please include your username so we know how to apply the funds. We will send you an email as soon as your funds are applied.
- How do I upload files to my Blind File Sharing account? - The only way to upload files is using an FTP client software on your computer. This includes DOS. Yes, you can FTP files from your computer using the DOS command if you are familiar with that feature. We do not endorse any FTP client software. There are so many to choose from for both Windows and Mac platforms. Many FTP clients are free of charge! You need to configure a connection to the following address: ftp.blindfilesharing.com. Then, configure your username and password. It should be as simple as that. You can drag and drop as many files or folders from your local computer as you like.
- Are there any file size limits or storage limits? - NO. You are welcome to upload or download any file of any size. We do not charge more or less based on the file size. Rather, we charge a flat rate per file transferred. Furthermore, there is no additional charge for more storage in your account. We specialize in large files, but you are welcome to transfer files of any size.
- Can I store files in different folders under my FTP account? - Absolutely! We encourage people to organize files so that it is easier to find them in the future. Even after a file is uploaded, files may be moved from one folder to another freely. This movement does not incur any expense.
- I have my FTP client software configured, so why do I get a connection error? - It is entirely possible that (if you use Microsoft Windows) you have a software-based firewall installed. This firewall may be preventing your computer from establishing an FTP connection to your server. Try to examine your security settings and determine if FTP connections are allowed. Keep in mind that the only way to upload files is using an FTP client. We do not offer any browser interface for uploads.
- Why are my files always corrupt when I open them after downloading them from my FTP server? - One possible cause is a setting between BINARY and ASCII in your connection manager entry for Blind File Sharing .com. We recommend BINARY for all users.
- I sent someone a View to download a file, but they receive a browser error 404 saying that the page cannot be found. Why? - This is likely due to spaces in the filename, or directory. For example, if you send the following View: http://www.blindfilesharing.com/myaccount/jump for joy.avi, it will not work. The spaces are not understood by the browser when attempting to locate and download. You are welcome to leave the spaces in your filename, or directory. That is why we created a tool called Generate your Views. This tool allows you to see a list of your files and the corresponding View to download the files that are constructed with the proper symbols to accommodate spaces in filenames or folders.
- I want to send someone a View to a file, but I want them to pay for the cost of transferring the file. Is this possible? - Yes. We have a very clear way for account owners to handle this. All you have to do is make a directory under your FTP storage called "pay" (note that you don't need the quotation marks in the name). Once you make that folder, you can upload new files or move existing files into that directory and you will not be charged for any data transfer for these files. See example below.
- You have a file called christmas.avi and you want to share that file with someone, but you want them to pay for the transfer. Assuming that your username is bob and you have already uploaded the file called christmas.avi into your /pay directory, the View for this file would be:
- Now, let's say that you sent this View to your sister. When she clicks on the link, she will be directed to a page that explains that the owner of this file requests that the recipient pay for the transfer. If your sister has an account on Blind File Sharing.com, all she has to do is login on the website, and
she will be able to download the file, assuming that she has enough funds in her account to do so. If she does not have an account, then she will be invited to establish an account and proceed to transfer the file.
- Ultimately, this protects you, the account owner, against any View abuse that is out of your control. However, keep in mind that simply renaming a file in your FTP directory kills the View immediately and it is impossible for anyone to know that you renamed the file.
