Your security is very important to us.
Here is a summary of how we ensure your information is as secure as possible.
- Passwords - We utilize a system known as One-Way Password Generation. That means that your password is encrypted and cannot be regenerated into plain text. If you forget your password, the only way to access the system is to use the Lost Password Reset tool.
- Credit Cards - Blind File Sharing does not maintain your credit card data in any database or electronic file within our domain. Your payment data is passed to Authorize.net according to their secure standards. Once we receive a payment resolution (approved/declined) we take appropriate action for your account. However, the credit card data is not retained anywhere. This means that you will have to re-enter the Payment information each time, but we think that the added security is worth it.
- HTTPS - We serve up a secure connection starting with the mainpage. That means you can login to your account from the Front Page of the site over a SSL connection between your computer and our Web Server.
- Secret Question - The reason we ask users to select a 'Secret Question' during and corresponding answer during registration is so that we can verbally confirm your identity. If we need to communicate with you, we want to be able to confirm (to the best of our ability) that we are speaking with the owner of the Blind File Sharing account. We believe a 'Secret Question" with a response is a responsible way to do this.
- Separate FTP Account Passwords - We ask every user to establish two passwords: one for account access via the Website, and a separate password for FTP access. We believe this makes accounts more secure so that a user can share the username and FTP password without compromising demographic information.
